>Hounslow and Dist Whs circuit race

>Last night it was the Hounslow and District Wheelers go at hosting the Hillingdon circuit race. The conditions were appropriately hot for the race nearest to midsummer day.

Another even-paced, fast-ish race. I only had one big effort when the bunch split and I bridged back to the front group. I didn’t get to the front once – we were a wide bunch and there was some cavalier riding. Good training, but dispiriting to be so ineffective.

Race stats: Race distance: 20.18 miles, time: 47:58 (25.2mph average speed). ? of ? finishers. Top speed: 32.3mph. Fastest mile: 2:16 (26.5mph – miles 13 and 20), slowest mile: 2:29 (24.2mph – 16th mile). Average HR: 157bpm, maximum HR: 172bpm. Winner: ?
