>Farnham RC evening 10

>Back to Bentley for another go at the H10/8 course. It was this event last year that I finally broke the 25 minute barrier, so I was hoping for another calm evening. Fat chance.

The conditions were similar to the last two Saturdays: headwind out, tailwind home. I thought a fast time was still possible and I worked hard. I ended up with a 24:56… That’s three 24s in a row and the fourth of the season. Last season I only managed one. Good, eh? Not quite – I thought I was going faster and I was a bit disappointed.

Race stats: 10 miles in 24:56 (24.06mph). ? out of ? finishers. Slowest mile (2): 2:57 (20.34mph). Fastest mile (9): 2:03 (29.27mph). Top speed: 33.8mph. First 5 miles: 13:39, next 5 miles: 11:17. Max heart rate: 169bpm, average HR: 161bpm. Winner: Richard Prebble (Candi TV-Pinarello RT) 20:51.
