>Winter Series race 3 and a time trial

>WS race 3 was another DNS. The cold is hanging on and I’ve been off the bike for nearly a week.

On Sunday I was down to ride the Farnborough and Camberley CC 10m TT and decided to roll around to show willing. I rode my training bike and gave it some (my HR figures looked like I’d raced properly), but the time was a slow 29:07. Still, that gives me a base line for the season. It was good to finish as third counter in a Willesden CC team with Peter Cookson (27:16) and Gill Reynolds (28:08). The winner was 2008 British Best All Rounder Nik Bowdler in 21:17.

It was good to see Santa on a penny farthing, Santa on a Raleigh Chopper, two Santas on a tandem and a man with a Christmas pudding on his head.
